IMP-19 — Referenced-Figure Pages, Batch 3: art-world tail + classical lineage (10 people) — Design
Status: Approved 2026-07-01
Source item: IMP-19 (work/IMPROVEMENTS.md) — the two clusters IMP-17 deliberately deferred.
Branch: pluck/imp-19-referenced-figures-batch-3
Goal
Create entity-person pages for the final two deferred clusters of referenced
figures, completing Fuller's relationship map on its two remaining axes: the
classical-geometry/philosophy lineage (his intellectual forebears) and the
postwar art-world tail (his Black Mountain College / Institute of Design
contemporaries). Same IMP-16/17 model.
Context
- Reuses the Batch-2 model verbatim (
docs/superpowers/specs/2026-07-01-referenced-figures-batch-2-design.md):
entity-personpage,relationship:field + mirroredrelationship-<type>
tag, a## Relationship to Fullersection, a body link to
r-buckminster-fuller, bidirectional figure↔work / figure↔person See Also. - Selection (from brainstorming): curate by substance. A tightened mention
scan corrected the earlier inflated classical counts (Plato 19 not 65, Euclid
24 not 53) and — crucially — showed the classical figures appear in genuinely
Fuller-relevant geometry sources, and the thin art-world names carry real
Fuller ties through Black Mountain College (Fuller taught there 1948–49)
and Moholy-Nagy's Institute of Design (Fuller was on its faculty), not
just mention count. - Carl Jung dropped. His 7 mentions are all inside articles about other
people (Robert Anton Wilson ×4, the demiurge essay, Manly P. Hall); there is
no documented Fuller–Jung relationship, so per the IMP-16/17 substance
principle he is not given a page (noted in Deferred). - No new vocabulary. Every figure fits the 9-value set.

The art-world six are all below the ≥3-mention floor but clear the "clear
relationship substance" bar via documented Fuller ties (below). If any proves
too thin to write honestly at implementation time, drop it and note it.
Relationship rationale (the queryable axis)
- forebear — Euclid (Fuller built synergetics explicitly against Euclidean
geometry), Plato (the Platonic solids central to Fuller's polyhedral cosmology),
Pythagoras (number-and-form lineage), Archimedes (the Archimedean solids Fuller
used). Predecessors in Fuller's geometry, not contemporaries. - contemporary — the art-world six, all figures of Fuller's own era connected
through shared institutions rather than a directional influence:- Robert Rauschenberg — student at Black Mountain College, where Fuller
taught and raised his early domes. - Anni Albers — Bauhaus-trained textile artist who taught at Black Mountain
College alongside the community Fuller joined. - László Moholy-Nagy — Bauhaus master who founded the New Bauhaus /
Institute of Design in Chicago, on whose faculty Fuller served. - Walter Gropius — founder of the Bauhaus, whose art-and-technology program
shaped the design-education world Fuller worked within. - Marcel Duchamp — avant-garde figure of the Cage/Black Mountain circle
adjacent to Fuller. - Stan VanDerBeek — experimental filmmaker whose dome-based Movie-Drome
drew directly on Fuller's geodesic ideas.
- Robert Rauschenberg — student at Black Mountain College, where Fuller

Frontmatter: title, category: topic, created/updated/verified: 2026-07-01,
confidence (medium for the well-grounded classical/BMC ties, low for the
thinnest), volatility: cold, aliases, summary; relationship: <type>;
sources: (the resolvable anchor) with compiled-from: sources; tags =
entity-person + relationship-<type> + about-buckminster-fuller
(classical forebears + BMC/ID figures with a direct Fuller tie) or
fuller-adjacent + 1–2 topic tags.
Body: # <Name> + one-line identity; short reworded description; ## Relationship to Fuller (grounded narrative linking r-buckminster-fuller in prose — the
geometry lineage for the classical four; the BMC / Institute of Design / Movie-
Drome ties for the art six); ## See Also (bidirectional figure↔work/person,
not Fuller); ## Sources.
Bidirectional links + registry
## See Alsoholds only reciprocated figure↔work/figure↔person links; the

(both new) are written into both pages.- Add the 10 to

Registry 92 → 102. - Update
wiki/topics/_index.md, master.wiki/_index.mdarticle count
(223 → 233) + Recent Changes,log.md.
Verify
/wiki:lint --local-equivalent: 0 broken links; See Also bidirectional;
sources: resolve; every relationship: value in the 9-value set with a
matching tag; registry annotated + count 102; indexes/counts consistent.
Deferred
- Carl Jung — no documented Fuller relationship (mentions only in
third-party articles); revisit only if a genuine tie surfaces. - With Batches 1–3 the referenced-figure map is substantially complete; any
further figures are one-off additions, not a standing batch.
Testing / verification
Content task, no unit tests. Success = 10 pages, each with a valid
relationship: type, a "Relationship to Fuller" section, bidirectional
figure↔work links, a body link to Fuller, registry (102) + indexes updated,
lint-clean.
